This is how every Sunday evening should go!

Fishing holes are few & far between when you live in a desert, even more so in the midst of a drought. But a friend from church runs a turf farm & has well water fed ponds that stay wet year round rain or drought.

Turns out they are overrun with bass too! Perfect combination for a 6 yr old with no attention span! Action is fast & frequent!

Very stunted growth, but we are helping even out the population!

Best way to teach them....while it's hot and heavy. My 5yo only goes with me when they're biting good and I know they are. Took him once when it was slow and he bugged me almost the whole time about leaving.

you would be surprise at the caliber of fish you can find on golf courses. Problem is that most of them will run you off for fear that you may get hit with a golf ball. Had a place tell us one time we could come back when it was raining.
Use to do some frog gigging on a turf farm.
Looks like little guy was enjoying himself.

That's exactly how mine went yesterday evening. My boys racked up around 30 bass in three hours.

We didn't catch quite that many. We landed about a dozen from 7 til about 8:30 with a drink break in between. Lost another 6 or so that he just couldn't quite get the hook set in. He's learning to keep his line tight though! Had a really thick grass mat right on the edge, they tangle up in the grass and manage to shake it loose just before the shore line.

Best evening I've had in maybe my entire life. He had a blast!
