    Let's Rig A Boat

Let's say you have a new bay boat to rig. What would the green screen put on this bad boy. What electronics? Power pole or talon and what length? One or two? What troll motor? Any other extras that y'all like, have, or recommend. Cmon pile em on. Thanks in advance.

Oh the list could just go on and on. Power pole, jack plate, rear and front casting platforms, bow mounted trolling motor with ipilot, dual bait wells rigged outside the hull to constantly bring in fresh water, O2 tanks, raised console with the custom bucket seats, ice chest holders, t top, Garmin GPS / depth finder, LED light bars and deck lighting including lighting coming down from the t top, aluminum rod holders. I'm sure I'll think of more off my list of wants for my boat

How about a custom stainless rail system to swap out gear for gigging flounder to bow fishing to casting the flats?

A T top and the proper prop to pull you up out of shallow water. A jack plate is a no brainer on this.

Thanks guys. Boat is already powered and has a jack plate. It's just been so long since I rigged a boat sometimes you over look stuff. Keep them coming. Somebody's gotta have good ideas on electronics. I'm ready to pimp this thing out. Thanks again.

I have had powerpoles on the last 3 boats and went with 12' talon this time. I am very pleased so far. Very easy to install yourself and doesn't take up all the room with pumps, etc. It really is a better product in most cases.

I know folks are very loyal to PP because that's what everyone has had for a while (including myself) but I don't see any reason to buy a PP over Talon anymore.

I think the proper prop is where most people miss the boat. (No pun intended). Call bauman marine and they can set you up to get optimum performance out of your rig.

If it were me, I'd go with dual 10ft blades, proper prop, t top, for electronics, Id go with either Raymarine or garmin, both have made great advancements in the past few years. Raymarine has impressed me the most and I currently run humminbird graphs.

The radar add on for any graph is a great addition if you can swing it.

Of course navionics navigation chips, rigid marine grade lights, specifically the scene series lights on the t top. Turns night into day. A good boarding ladder, minn Kota terrova in 112lb thrust with ipilot, make sure to get a ram mount to stabilize the head of the motor when stowed. A good marine radio with one touch SOS paired with a good antenna. Trim tabs are nice to have as well in addition to the jackplate you have. Blinker trim switches are nice for both the jack plate and the tilt/trim.

Man I could go on and on but those would be the top ones I can think of at the moment.
