This unit is $79.95 at Buc-ees right now.

I set up and built a 12v ForEverlast unit with their cage and added a solar panel a few weeks ago. I like their plate design and that motor combo shoots corn like crazy !

They will have you cleaned out in no time.
I've made a couple a little wider than the barrel and just use ratchet straps to hold them down. Here is a pic.

Love the Ultramatic feeders. But I have used the Texas Hunter units for many years with excellent results too
I have bought some cheap TH units in sale
Get the 12 volts and throw further.
With PVC pipe over the legs, cages are now not necessary

Long term, 1" x 1" screen cage big enough to go completely around the barrel (where they can't reach the spinner) OR Spin Tech or The Eliminator spin plate with a good 12v system is the way to go. Again, just IMO.

I have ten thousand photos of feeders on ten feeders without coons on the cage.
Suspend with chains so they spin.
Just my experience over the past 10 years. But whatever works.
KAC!

Aside from throwing corn further, I like the way 12v units operate spin tech, and eliminator plates better. When it comes on the drop all the way down, when they shut off they slam shut.
