So, this will be the first time I have been here to float. I have a new yeti hopper 30 I would love to take with us. Is there a cooler regulation? Also, any seasoned floaters out there have any good tips about the river or things to do. Thanks
The Comal is a really easy float and relatively fast float. Stop and post up somewhere occasionally. The tube chute can be slightly dicey, especially if you get caught in the eddy. Paddle to the right as you exit it. Hit up the Gristmill in Gruene for dinner.

Thanks for the advise. We planned on eating there tomorrow evening. Heard it's great.
If you need a refill on beer or money, bring a set of goggles and fishing net and hangout below the tube chute lol
The hope should be great, last time we floated 2 years ago I had my tundra 65 with us. Just tied it to our tunes and let it float alongside. Even rode on it for a bit down the river.
Ultralite09, I'll leave my tight money friend down there to scavenge for me while I continue to float. Lol. My 65 was going for a swim until I was blessed with this hopper.
So the cooler has to have a locking mechanism on the comal? Does the regular latches count? What is a volume drinking device? A funnel I guess. Sorry for all the questions we always float in the county, but doesn't look like an option this year. So the can ban is gone right?
