    Guadalupe Flow?

Does anyone have any inside knowledge about the Guadalupe between Canyon Lake and NB? I know the current flow is above 5000cfs, but have heard rumors that they plan on closing some of the gates on the dam to reduce the flow to a safe tubing level tomorrow.

We planned on heading out to Lazy L&L early Friday morning, but will probably cancel if they keep the flow up.

Should be coming down soon. Canyon is at 6' now and was at 15' before they opened it up.

A friend of mine has a house on the Comal and when we chatted earlier this week, he said the Guad was closed to tubing last weekend and the Comal was so crowded, there was talk that they may limit the people on the Comal this weekend. Was a real bottleneck on people at the exit point...

I was in Gruene on Friday afternoon and the water was still way up and running pretty swift. Don't know that they've reopened for tubers yet

Comal was fast and dirty this weekend. Tube chute was no place for kids.

Yea, I have been watching that site as well as the USGS and the gbra websites. I was hoping to find someone on the green screen who might have a little insider knowledge on plans for the near future.

Was listening to the NB radio station this week and this has been a hot topic--talking about installing video cams to monitor tube traffic and make it a "one gets out, one gets in" type system as it was apparently a near tub-to-tube situation with the Guadalupe closed.

Got a response to my email from the gbra. They have no intention of reducing the flow until June 29 at the earliest. With the high probability of rain in the forecast it is entirely possible that that date could be pushed back.

I sure wish it would stop raining so they could reduce the flow as I going crazy not being able to hunt my place because it's been flooded for the past 2 months from the Guadalupe.

Its closed as far as I know.. Sad deal too, I haven't been floating yet and I pass by it everyday going to work! Torture I tell ya! It may as well be winter, since I can't float lol.

                              I was there the 15th - 20th.

Go ahead and make other plans.

                              The campgrounds are ghost towns.
