    lift kits and ride quality

When come time for a new set of tires, I may either level or lift my truck 2". Very mild as I don't want or need a monster. I haven't owned a lifted truck in years as the last one was too high and rode too rough for my current taste. It was awesome for a hs and college kid.

What do these new mild lifts ride like? Would I be better off with an icon 2.5" type lift kit, or just a run of the mill leveling kit?

Leveling kits are fine, depending on your truck/tire combo. For most 3/4 tons you can run 35" with a leveling kit. Not sure what your vehicular situation is.

I just don't want to put anything into a bind over time.

The only issue that I've had with my leveling kit is payload capacity. While it is still the same capacity as before, it makes the rear end squat more under load. Fords 3/4 tons already sit pretty level so if I was to do one over on a 250 I would opt for the lift instead

Regular leveling kit will be fine...

However, Icon and other high end kits are worth it if you have the means.

That is a True statement. My son is running Icon on his Taco, I ran Icon on a F350. Great lifts & leveling systems. I run Carli on my Dodge. they both cost more ,but I believe the ride & durability is worth it.

Do they make an air bag system lift kit? Basically bag the whole truck? Are they smooth? Expensive? Any good?

What size tire are you looking to run? Stock '15s come with 34" stock. 35s can fit stock, but it has minor rubbing. If you want to go with the best, look at Carli.

Not much bigger than I have now, but a little bit. I currently have 275/65/20. Not sure what that equates to. I just measured and it's 33" tire it looks like

Yes, yes, and yes. Unless the compressor goes out, then it'll be like riding a bull.

But for what you're doing, a leveling kit will be fine. Throw some 2.5" blocks up front and forget about it

These and Icon both advertise better ride quality? By that do they mean riding like a sports car, or luxury car? I don't road race much, lol, so I want luxury. The smoother the better.

the blocks will lift the truck, don't get me wrong, but it will also stiffin up the ride.
its not allowing the springs to compress to absorb bumps. your shortening the travel distance

I leveled my Ram 2500 with the 2" blocks. Went to Bilstein shocks that were 2" longer travel than the factory, and it still rides like factory ride.

Extremely smooth. Carli kits are designed to run in the desert at 70 mph. Check out the videos on YouTube or the website.

Brett i just leveled my f150 (2" lift on the front). Cost me like $300 and it looks great, not too much but just enough
