    Project Management Career ?

I know some that have the PMP certification and I have seen Project Management roles related more to the IT industry. I'm planning a training course in Technical Project Management soon. I'm a Process Engineer and many of my projects are more Lean/Six Sigma based, Equipment upgrades, & R&D on new product development for manufacturing scale up. What other industries have high demand for Project Managers? Just curious if any of the good folk out there from the GS are Project Managers across other industries beyond just IT

Construction seems to have its share.

      Project Management Career ?

Manufacturing utilizes PM's t in more of a Sales / Operations role but PM none the less. Same general PM disciplines just a different field.

Subscribed to see where this goes....

The pipeline industry is growing rapidly and needs PMs. I was a PM for 2 years before becoming an Inspection Manager for the same company. We hired 4 more PMs in the last year for capital as well as maintenance such as pipeline integrity and ILI tool runs, repairs, digs, etc. Shoot me a message if you have any questions on any of this type of work.

Pm sent. Sounds like can be fairly broad spectrum across other industries. I know companies that are heavy Lean Six Sigma oriented tend to have Black Belts at different sites to facilitate training, and project deployment. I'm also working on my Black Belt in Six Sigma as well.

Not a PM but think it is a great path. Beauty of being a PM is you dont have to get pigeon holed into a particular industry.

True. All my work experience is in manufacturing - food/beverage, medical device, & plastics extrusion compounding. Primarily technical focused roles as Chemical Manager, Quality Engineering & Process Engineering
