As far as I'm aware Never been a 20 year contract nor will there ever be unless you move it to the new WRP program. Re-enrollment is via a point system based on grass type etc.

Problem is once it's in the program there is no walking out unless you want to pay all that money back unless they have a special exemption in place(usually have to be atleast 5 years in though)

Also the CRP program changed this year. You have to graze it or hay it one out out of 10 years. And you don't get paid full amount that year

Best bet is the FSA office. Every office enforces differently.

To clarify, I really was wanting to know how hard it would be to renew, and the odds. I would hate to buy thinking it would get renewed and it doesn't.

That's a hard question, like I said its on a point system. Stupid thing about the point system is some grasses that where high pointers back in the day aren't high pointed anymore.

As far as maintance usually not bad. I lost 6 quarters to a fire and had to re-seed ASAP... That was expensive.. But that's an extreme case.

You can probably get more on a cattle lease then CRP FYI.

We have approximately 275 acres in crp and it pays $5000.00 per yer. Ours is up in 2017 so hoping that we can renew.
