Why is the US Flag Patch Reversed?

If you know please do not post. If you do not know please do not google.

    Just list what you think.

Why is this US FLAG patch reversed and where is it made to be worn.

Normally reversed if worn on the sleeve, as if it were being blown in the breeze.

It is made that way so then when you wear it, its like it is flying forward not retreating. And is typically worn on the right arm so its closest to the heart. (Except the heart is really in the center) Or so this is what I was told when I was in the army. Not all branches wear it on the right. Some uniforms have it on the left but always pointing forward.

          I've wondered about that also.

I was taught that it was worn on the right sleeve and it faces as if it were blown in the wind while you move forward. Ironically, I noticed it first on a Greyhound bus. Never thought about the patch my dad wore on his uniform.

Cause America is going backwards at this time!

Right sleeve, just got a pic of a friend of mine who got back from the dessert today, and I noticed the backward flag on his sleeve.

Right sleeve to symbolize the flag being blown as the soldier charges forward.

i've heard it as "Stars before Stripes" but i've been known to be wrong before.

oh and on the Right Sleeve

I played football at a military academy and we had flags on both sides of our helmets. Each side displayed the flag with patch forward as others have stated.

Was that on those leather helmets?
