Deal Alert! Tecomate seed at Academy.

This is not advertised but I was looking to plant one of our 1 acre fields in LabLab, went to one Academy and nothing. Luckily we have 2 so I went to the second one and found 2 bags of the 11 lb. LabLab Plus. I go to the register and they are on clearance from $39.99 to $29.99, so I said I'll go look for more. Sure enough I find one more hidden behind some of the Biologic stuff. I keep looking and can't locate any more. I ask one of the employees to check in the computer to see if there is any more but he confirms that they are all out. So he walk back with me to look once more and nothing. So he's carrying a hand scanner with him and checks the Tecomate Deer Peas Plus, I had already checked them on the isle scanner and they were $34.99 for the 11lb. bag, and he says "maybe you'll get lucky and what do you know!!! Hand scanner reads $9.99 each! So I grab the last 4 and go to the register and at the register it reads $34.99 once again. I tell the lady about the hand scanner and a manager comes and reads the sku with it and sure enough $9.99. He price matches them at the register and I walk out with the seeds. Sorry for the long read but I just wanted anyone that goes checks them out what to look for. Hope it wasn't just a glitch at our local Academy.

We've used similar seed that was 3 years old with great success but it all depends how it is cared for and stored in my opinion.

I wouldn't be scared to plant 'em. If seeds are stored in controlled temps with no high humidity spikes, I've found they will last a while. I bought a fairly large bag of Plot Screen three or four years ago to plant a narrow strip to help the deer feel more confident about feeding in a plot beside one of my roads and I used it three years running. Still have some and I would plant it again if I weren't putting something else in.

Update: Planted the Buck Beans and Lablab last Saturday, got 2.5" of rain over the week and these are the results.

I don't have it fenced! It is an experimental plot cause I didn't put lime or fertilizer, it was last years seed and late in the year. I'll be plowing it in September and seeding for fall/winter plots.
