    Timney install question

when swapping out trigger on a Remington 700 with a new Timney, have any of you had to dremel or file the trigger guard to make the shoe align and bolt release work correctly?

I don't have any rubbing on the trigger or safety on my HS stock, but something is going on with the trigger guard fit. it's pushing the trigger to the side, causing the bolt release to bind and visually I can tell it's not centered.

appreciate any help, and a photo of the trigger guard would be awesome if you've had to do this.

I have never had to but on any of the ones I've installed but in the instructions it says if bolt release is binding you can slightly bend it so that it will not catch. I would try that before I filed the trigger guard.

I know its not the same issue you are having, but I've installed one on a Model 788 and had to use a dremel tool on the stock to make it fit. I had the issue of the safety binding on the side of the McMillan stock that is on it. The safety lever on Timney trigger for the 788 is similar to the 700. Much better than the original.
