    Fishing rod selection question....

Going to order a few more rods to add, and hopefully finish, the collection.

What actions does every fisherman need?

I have a few falcon bucco's that I love (Lizard Dragger, Finesse Jig, Medium, and Rattle Trap)

Im going to order a few Ducketts (mixture of Terrax and Ghost series)

Thinking I'm going to get a solid cranking rod for 10-20ft diving crank baits, a new flipping rod, and then another medium heavy).

So do I have all the basics covered or am I missing anything?

Also Im pretty set on the Ducketts but wouldn't mind hearing experiences between the Micro/Terrax vs Ghost lineups

All this is for bass fishing by the way

    Thanks

    Fishing rod selection question....

I have a falcon cara medium crank bait rod that I throw square billed and 200 series crank baits with. I would also look at a heavy rod for throwing a frog. Also make sure you have multiple lengths of rods ranging from 6'6 to 7'6.

I'm guessing you throw top water on your medium rod?

It's really never ending. When Im fishing hard I've got at least two of everything above, may need one for spinnerbaits.

Sounds like you could use 7'3"-7'6" extra heavy flipping/umbrella style rod. I tend to stay on heavy action rods. The lightest action rod in my boat is a falcon finesse jig rod that is a medium-heavy. I think the falcon lizard dragged is one of the most versatile rods you get. I fish nothing but Falcons, and it's by far my favorite "do anything" rod!

Planning on the terrax 7'6" extra heavy for that exact reason.

Your missing out on that medium action crank bait rod!

yo Mason! I have the Duckett ghost series Crankbait rod. I believe 7 ft long? i dont remember off the top of my head, it actually has the H2O reel you sold me on it!

Throws the bait roughly a mile and a half and I have enjoyed its results so far.

medium heavy, moderate action-something for throwing up to 5/8 oz will cover most things but you still need to match the rod to the type of fishing. a good long flipping stick for heavy jigs and punching grass would be high on the list.

I use a grass rake (for the life of me can't recall what rand it is) for pitching/flipping into heavy brush/grass.

Real stiff rod, yanked a few hawgs out of heavy brush in Falcon with it and was highly pleased with its response
