Flooding along the Wise/Montague County Line???

Just got off the phone with my dad. 8" of rain last night, and every tank/lake/hoofprint is full of water.

I think we lost a tin-horn and road, just beside my camper. May have lost camper, tractors, etc. that are near the washout.

Froggy, WCB, or any other in the area, can you report on the state of the roads around Dairy Parker RD, Wise Rd, or south of 455?

    Thanks,
    Randy

They're bad. The LBJ Grasslands has been closed for a few weeks due to road damage from Mother's Day weekend. Knowing the speed with which the Forest Service moves, they may get them repaired and opened by 2016.

I'm betting Denton Creek is out of it's banks and that whole bottom is flooded.

I poured 12.5 inches out of my rain gauge today and it's still raining. Here's a video of my lane this afternoon.

My in-laws live in Decatur, in 7 Wires. They couldn't get home earlier because the water was running over the road

        Froggy,

I was out there last weekend, trying to cut hay. Rain stopped that down.

Unfortunately for us, our roads are in Montague County. They move pretty slow.

I drove from Gainesville to Decatur on 51 today and there was 4 places where the water was just starting to come over the road. I was glad to get by. Also just south of Decatur on 287 there was probably close to a foot of water over the road.

Have you considered doing a little catfishing below those falls.

Sure glad I got across that crossing area last weekend before these rains started.

Hope it doesn't wash out crossing. Your G son said he is on vacation for the next month.....

We've had 11" plus inches since last Friday, big trees down over the area lake nocona 7.76 feet over flood stage!

I'll let y'all know if I still have a lease this weekend...

Hoping Panther creek didn't washout the bridge again.

I got 1-1/4" Monday night, had 3/4" Tuesday morning @ 6:45 that I didn't pour out, and the 5-1/2" gauge that was running over when I got home yesterday afternoon @ 5:20, and another 1/4" overnight. All that equals 7" plus in far south Wise County.

I was just watching channel 4 news and they showed a clip just south of Muenster, elm creek had gone over its banks and the hyway was closed, funny thing is it was our property they were showing that was under water.

Denton Creek is way out of banks. 730 North is closed past the Armory. One of the tinhorns washed away. Many, many road closures all over, especially north of Decatur. Pics below are near Greenwood, really close to Denton Creek.

It's a tin horn I'm glad you asked. I always heard it used for someone unfamiliar with what he was doing. No experience? So if that was what got washed away not good.
