If the surgeon didnt flush the bile ducts he should be kicked in the TAINT! There is absolutely no excuse for that crap!

My lower bile duct was blocked by a gallstone and it took 2 ERCP's to correct it.. my Bilirubin got to over 22 and my liver and kidneys both shut down.. a couple of years ago..

My problem was that I felt no pain from the gallbladder although it was in very bad shape.. then when the stone blocked the bile duct they misdiagnosed me as having Pancreatic cancer.. It took a surgeon to find the real cause of my troubles.

Got so weak from it all that I couldn't walk unassisted for more than a few feet. I've never fully recovered the strength I lost during those three months.

Glad you got yours found and fixed early...

There is a couple of threads on here somewhere about what I went through with it..

watch your diet after you leave. Fatty and spicy foods will effect you more and so will alcohol. My brother n law had his out about six months ago and is doing fine. He didn't have to have the ERCP done. Alot of times they will do that during surgery if they can, but sometimes they can't get the stones out at the time. Pray for a quick recovery.

Alright...So 4 times under anesthesia 3 actual procedures (3rd time i went under a car hit a transformer and the hospital went on generator power so they opted to bring me out and reschedule!) Gallbladder gone. Bile duct flowing freely as it should after 2 stones removed and some small repairs made. Was on the verge of liver failing. I did wind up with pancreatits. Haven't had anything by mouth since dinner Monday. Get to start liquid diet tomorrow if labs related to pancreas and liver continue to show improvement. Using much less pain medication now. Thanks for all your prayers and support. Just absolutely crazy how a person can go from seemingly healthy to this messed up in a matter a few days all over tiny little bile duct not working right. Cant want to be at home!!!
