Try Empire of the Summer Moon...

Read it a couple of years ago, and I need to pick it up again. I enjoy Texas history as well.....

I heard Empire of The Summer Moon was tremendous.

For an easy read of cool Texas facts in short chapters the following is cool:

Not historical, but defintely a Texas setting.

Again, not historical, but these are great books to read, the setting for these books is the gulf coast. Port A, Aransas Pass area.
