    AMO vs. IBO Specs

    I was reading another forum about the older bows of yesteryear vs. today. I never even thought about it but the older bows were AMO specs right?

    AMO = 60lb 30"dl and 9 grains per pound
    IBO = 70lb 30"dl and 5 grains per pound.

    Anyone have some old specs from a "Screamer" from back in the day? Seems like I remember that there was a Martin Fury or something like that? I would like to compare those with todays numbers.

    just playing with the numbers but a 330 fps IBO bow of today would be 253 fps by AMO.

      The Mfgrs are going to use whatever numbers make their product look better. If your numbers are correct, then I can see why a mfgr would want to use IBO. It makes his product look was better! As long as most are using the same system though, it really does not matter, which system they use.
