T-posts Barbwire Fence

Im going to build 2 15' x 15' squares around my feeders with t-posts and barbwire to keep the cows from knocking them over. I have never installed barbwire before. What tools will i need to get to make it easier?

Welding gloves,wire clamp,come along or tractor, fencing tool for cutting and twisting. For starters. Also, I used wedge lok on my garden fence so you don't have to weld supports.

Not to burst your bubble but you wont be able to stretch the barb wire tight enough to keep the cattle out with just T-post. You would be better off in the long run using hog panels.

I second this. 4 panels would make a 16'x16', and that's not very big. I'd go at least 32'x32' and bigger than that if you can.

It won't be worth a **** in sandy soil...or when they figure out that they can just push it over. I tried barbed wire way early in my youth until I found out the hard way that panels are the only way to go.

Yes hog panels are the way to go. They sure make the building process easy and they're not too expensive. As lameduck said, make it as big as you can.

This and make it much bigger, minimum of 30', I would recommend at least 45' across and round.

I have used barbwire as well but had corner post or trees to pull on. T-post aren't stout enough.

Angle and anchor the corner t posts and works just fine for me.

Trees do help also
