Star Spangled Banner at Game 5!

Some may like it, some may love it and some may hate it, but to me this is one heck of a lot better than 99% of the anthems sung at sporting events or wherever. Best I have heard since Jimi Hendrix played his version at Woodstock many years ago. I still think that was a great rendition by Jimi, probably the best ever.

Enjoy or turn it off, just thought I would put it so you could hear it.

83 views and no comments yea or nay? Surprising!

Of course some of you would have to You-tube the Jimi Hendrix version of the Star Spangled Banner from Woodstock because you were not born yet!!!!!!!

Agreed Doug! I thought Metallica did a wonderful job and was surprised when no one posted about it last night. The Hendrix version is on my playlist actually. GREAT STUFF!!!

Awesome. Love both of the versions. Jimi gets a little wild with the bombs bursting in air, but Metallica was 1000 times better than most of what we have heard the last few years and the renditions or lack there of from most of the so called singers.

            Both should be classics!

I thought it was great. I like the Hendrix version too. In high school I listen to it every Friday night during football. That was 20+ years after it was recorded... thank goodness to tapes and now CDs.

Pretty cool. Not as cool as the Hendrix version, although I am glad they didn't get too radical with it at a sporting event. Jimi's version was special because it fit the event in my opinion.

Thought they did a bang up job with it. Done with reverence.
