Where to get an XBox 360 repaired

My son has an Xbox 360 that keeps acting up. The image on the TV flashes off and then come back on a few seconds later. We switched it to a new TV and it still does it. Where can I get the Xbox repaired?

Does the Xbox have any red rings on it?

Do you mean the Xbox itself or the TV when it is having problems?

Honestly I couldn't pick the xbox out of a lineup with any other gaming device. I will have to call my son to find out.

If it has three flashing red lights just get another used one. Not worth the hassle to fix as cheap as they are used now.

I was thinking about that. That is definitely an inexpensive test.

I picked one up with all the accessories and a couple games for $60 on craigslist with very little searching. Even found one right in town. Don't know if I could get anything repaired for that price. The one I had before that was a CL find too that lasted several years.

I went home and my son was playing the xbox. I wiggled the cord around and he said it flashed really fast. I kept doing it and couldn't get it to do it again.

I asked him about red dots or red circles and he had no idea what I was talking about.

Its called the "Red Ring of Death' basically it fries your system and renders it useless..I know my kids have gone thru 2 this way...Sounds like you just have a short in the cable attachment..

Around the power button is normally either green or blue segmented rings. If they are red, that is bad juju. It means the processor heat sink has paired and allowed it to overheat. They can be repaired, but based on availability and reduced pricing, replacing it would be just about as easy.
This case was probably the HDMI cable bad. Replace that and game on!!

We switched cords between two units and the second one flashed once over the weekend. So either it is the hdmi cord or we just broke the second one.
