What is the music of your memories ?

Just going through the iTunes store looking up some oldies but goodies and some of the music just takes me back to the days of my youth when things seemed so easy and concerns didn't exist. I was the only son of a hard core redneck who thought that the best thing a young boy needed was room to run and woods to play in. I remember my mom and sisters and i following my dad and his friends from rodeo to rodeo and living in a Dodge camper van on the weekends so we could watch him ride. Between Tanya Tucker, Conway, George Jones and Loretta Lynn that 8 track got wore smooth out. Those were the good times even though they didn't last forever but i guess nothing does.

What does it for you ?

Classic rock, classic hard rock and classic country. Country today does not seem to be country.

The first band I played in we did (tried) a lot of southern rock. Outlaws (not willie & Waylon) Atlanta Rhythm section, Marshall Tucker band, The Allman Brothers and Charlie Daniels. I play mostly western swing now but I still like to go back from time to time and listen to those old bands.

I'm sitting here watching Footloose, and I remember being 10 or 11 and going on a road trip with my parents and little sister to south carolina, and my little sister played "Let's Hear it For the Boys" over and over and over in her fisher price tape player. She must have played it a hundred times. I don't know how my dad didn't throw it out the window. I had completely forgotten about that before watching this stupid old movie
