Need Good Boat Motor Mechanic. Tune up.

I bought a boat that's been garaged a few years. Motor starts but runs super rich then dies. I'm not a mechanic so I need a good one. I'm in the Grayson County area but can drive a descent amount for a good mechanic. It's an Evinrude 175 6cylinder. Any help is appreciated.

I just did the same thing but with a much smaller motor & boat. Mine had been in storage for over 5 years, so I knew it needed a carb kit, new fuel line (dang ethanol crap), and I had 'em do a water pump. Boat mechs are dwindling around here, but I trust Doug at Bryan Marine.

Where is he located? Luckily this boat has never had ethanol gas in it. And stored in a garage so hoping it's just carbs. Changed filter and fuel already.

You might try Skally Marine in Denison. I've used them in the past with good results.

I'm in the same boat, no pun intended, I have my dad's old boat that has been sitting (garaged) for probably 15 years. I don't even know if it's worth it to try and get it back in the water.

Thanks for the lead. I called him and unfortunately they don't work on Evinrudes. Something about too hard to get parts.

            Anyone else????

My vote is to call Tommy at Rockwall Marine. A bit of a drive for you but they have the best service guys around.
