    Largemouth Growth Rate

Got a fish question- Approx how much would one expect an F1 Largemouth to weigh after about four years of being initially stocked at 3-4" ? Pond is about 5 acres and is very sporadically fed.

if you put bull minnows and bluegill yearly to help supplement you can expect to have 1-2lbers in a year.. You should easily have 5lbers in 4 yrs

Thanks for the info, I guess that means we're supplementing right about where we need to be. We just fished the pond for about the first time and had several 6+ lbs fish. Any thoughts on supplementing some tilapia with the minnows and bluegills?

Sorry for all the questions but here's one more.

How detrimental are gators to a pond? Say just a couple 6'ers

7#s of forage to 1# of gain.

4lbs or so, but some could be up to 6 or 7. remember the males will never get much over 4lbs if that for the most part, there are exceptions.

I wouldn't worry about managing it for fish any more if you do that.

?? I'm not adding gators, I'm asking should I remove the two that have taken up residence.

You think shooting turtles is fun . I would have them removed or remove them myself with the proper paperwork.

Depends on amount and quality of forage. Also dependent on amount of structure/cover available and amount of vegetation.

With abundant food, our fish guy has said they will grow an inch per month from fingerlings. I would think that weight depends on similar conditions.

Hey Moose, how is that bass hound boat doing on that lake? Hope you are enjoying it!

I stocked 3-4" bass, catfish, hybrids 2 years ago. I caught one bass Sunday was 17" long. Catfish was 22" and hybrid 17". I feed about 1lb a day of feed. I need to bump that up.

                            I see.

I imagine you can figure out my stance on that then from my previous post.
