    Power tools?

I want to start building things for my wife. I figure I want to start with a drill and circular saw. What's a good brand tht will last a while. I don't have a garage to store everything so space is an issue. Any suggestions/correction to my plan are welcomed. Thx y'all!

Yep. That's all we use at work. They get abused and keep on working.

Good bang for your buck is Porter Cable

Dewalt used to be what I purchased and used mostly along with Porter Cable and Makita, but I'm slowly changing over to Milwaukee. The Milwaukee FUEL impacts are great as are many of their other products. Snap On and Ingersoll Rand make some nice impacts as well.

I work construct and they have given us makita and desalt in the past, about 2 years ago they switched to Milwaukee and that's by far the best in my opinion.. I like the fuel series with brushless motor, lots more battery life!

Cant go wrong with Milwaukee but I am loyal to Makita. Buy once cry once.

With average use, most all of em will last a long time. I've got jigsaws, drills, sanders and circular saws that are 20+ years old that are craftsman and black & decker. Every day on the job use, I'd spend the money, but not for here at the house.

Milwaukee lithium and be done. I would get a good corded circular saw though, Skil, Bosch, Rigid are the three top rated worm drive saws. Get a worm drive, after you use one, you'll never look at a standard circular saw the same.

Ridgid warranty is hard to beat as it inlcudes batteries. But it's a PITA to swap a battery out as they want the tool, the charger, and the battery and it takes 2-4 weeks, at least at the San Antone service place.

If you do buy Ridgid, be sure and register it on line, and don't buy the 12v--get the 18v.

Been going 10 years on my Dewalt 18volts without a hiccup and I've used them well. The only thing I've had to do is rebuild the battery packs one time.
