Here in the north Tomball area.......power on and off, winds 55 sustained 70 mph gusts.
Minor damage at this time at the house. Can't see anything else right now.
I can't imagine how anyone on the coast, that stayed, can make it with the wind, rain and storm surge.
The darkness and howling winds are a little unnerving for such a long time with no let up.
At least by sun-up we will be able to see something and feel grounded.
Good Luck to all and may God bless us and keep us all safe.

Just did a little on foot recon....lots of treelimbs down over in the Houston Heights area, Oxford/Whiteoak....whiteoak bayou is out of it's banks and probably into some houses over here. Spoke to Buddy in West U, lots of tree damage, no power. Spoke to a Buddy in the Beltway/Briar Forest Area, the same. Spoke to buddy in Humble, and he got the crown of a 100 ft pine through roof of his bedroom in his brand new house, no power. Great to hear of the many that seem to have made it through with minimal damage, and prayers go out to those who really got hammered. I hear that there is lots of chatter on the police scanners that emergency vehicles are not able to get to those in need due to stranded lookey-lou's..... they are asking that everyone stay home. Also just saw that all communities within the affected area are requesting that people who evacuated NOT come back yet....the roads down here are pretty bad, lots of downed trees and lots of flooding in some areas...Best of luck everyone
