Why is it illegal to bowfish on Fayette County Lake?

I don't understand why it would be illegal anywhere. Is there anybody that actually likes the LCRA?

Yes....LCRA. The rice farmers in Matagorda County sure don't.

I've been on the receiving end of that too.

I think LCRA is actually very generous with the public access and facilities they provide. Folks should do a little homework and look at the funding they provide in the way of grants to cities all along the CO River for all sorts of things.

The facilities at Fayette (I use them quite often) are pretty nice and I'm glad we have access to them.

I can completely see why LCRA doesn't allow any kind of hunting on their properties. It's a can of worms they don't want opened as it would be heavily abused.

LCRA has a board of diretors and regional representatives. Everyone can get their contact information on the LCRA website (one of the best I've ever seen for a semi-public entity) and let their thoughts be known.

It's fairly easy to be generous when you make money hand over fist from a resource owned by all, water...

LCRA and GBRA are managed by executive directors that answer to the board of trustees. They have regional representatives as well. Let those folks know how you feel.

Lots of corporations make money hand over fist, avoid paying taxes, pollute OUR environment, take their manufacturing jobs overseas, pay their exec's billions, and are not nearly generous.

I have no issue with how LCRA or GBRA are run. They are not perfect, but no form of government is.

7 years with company...and I am not a fan. If they are so great why have they been thru so many directors in the past 8 years? Talking to the board or the reps is a joke. Good luck finding a rep who has been with company for more than 5 years. Its a quasi governmental agency that is unforgiving when the Legislator is on their side and then you only hear from their lawyers when theyre getting hammered.

Why would the hunting privileges be abused and fishing privileges not be abused ? The Talipia population could stand to be thinned out a bit and they are good eating as well.

                        Agreed on the Tilapia.

                        Their lakes, their rules though.
