    Highways shutdown in Houston

Went in to work at 3 this morning, got turned around at Westpark. Made it to 59, then was stopped at 610. Hundreds of cars stuck, stranded or abandoned.

I finally made it through but am in a truck; be extremely careful. I saw multiple cars abandoned with water to the doors.

I believe I10 and 288 are also shut down.

Be safe and don't risk it.

Well I guess I won't be making it to the Galleria but I wish people from my office were awake to say if our office was going to close. We back up to a bayou so when it floods we have issues.

My office is at the NW corner San Felipe and 610. Our parking garage is flooded and a water main broke so the entire building is closed. Not sure if your building would be affected by the same water main.

I am in Williams Towers and I made it in coming from Spring, I seen multiple cars parked on the side of the roads.

                What you driving?
I see lifted trucks making it through, but regular cars having a hard time navigate this.

Also I do the reverse commute (Galleria to the Woodlands) and there is no way I would even think about chancing it in even half this much water.

That's why Al Gore invented the internet. So we could remote in from home.

                  .
F250, I never once crossed any high water or water on the roads. It was the same commute as usually just this time there was cars parked on the side of the freeway.

I started in today but then recieved the call that offices were closed, turned around came back home.

What I fnd intriguing is even though roads are closed, posted, warnings, radio and tv annoucements , I see people still trying to take the closed roads.

Son in law drove from Cleveland to Gessner and 290 to work and he's the only one there. Guess he'll work his way back home in a bit.

I guess a lifted truck also gives you a license to be stupid? Come on people, be smart about it and stay home as we don't need to lose anyone. Last time I heard, those lifted trucks don't come with propellers.
