Scouts is what you make it. It's all about leadership.

Our group in Austin is shooting model rockets, swimming and camping this summer and attending day camp that has BBQ guns, archery and a climbing tower.

My understanding is that any 'gun' cannot be aimed at people or human like objects, including zombies. This goes for BB guns, water guns, sling shots and paintball guns.

I mean NO offense to any Boy Scouts on TBH, but I think they have been wussified for some time. I have aeveral Eagle Scout friends, none of which know how to change a spare tire.. Among many other things. I quit when the took away my pocket knife on the first camp out.

I think he's saying to take action and either help change it or just teach your son why it's wrong, rather than whining for validation or posting something on pintrest.

Roger that---and if a swimming session is in order, if they haven't passed the official boy scout swimming test, they have to wear a life preserver, regardless of what mom/dad say and even if the water is only knee deep.

Think any of them carry the official scout knife? Think any of them are taught campfire building? Campfire cooking? Nah, I doubt it.

I'm not sure where your scouting experience is or coming from but those skills are still taught.
And the BSA swim test is a good baseline for the swimmers ability. if you can't pass, then practice and get better so you can hang in the deep end. If it is knee deep water, then everyone in the water is a non swimmer...no swim test needed.

Libs and activist have purposely slowly taken aim at everything they can. Boy Scouts were on their radar for a long time.
Girl Scouts were taken over a long time ago.
I wished the real guys would start another organization. Where boys can be allowed to grow into young men and it's the mission for the organization as a whole.

Grow your sons from a boy to a man. Teach him the outdoors yourself. He doesn't need a club for that. My daddy taught me to be a man.

I am and Eagle Scout. With that said, if I have a son, he will not be in the Boy Scouts. The program is totally off base these days.

I loved it when I was in and learned a lot. Now it seems it's more of a babysitting service than teaching young boys to be leaders in their community. It's going down hill fast.
