Tracking dog advice

As the title reads, I'm looking for any and all advice on starting a beagle in blood tracking. I've never tried my hand at this so any tips, tricks or advice will be appreciated.

I've been looking into Tracking Dogs for Finding Wounded Deer but can only find it used on amazon for $344.00 and higher. If anyone on here has this book laying around and is willing to part with it for a decent price let me know.

I'd go to an event if you can. Went to a UBT event a few months ago and the amount of information was incredible. I have a crazy lacy & she did great on the mock trails. I learned a ton in that 2 day seminar & would highly recommend you doing the same if you can. The dogs know what to do it's the trainer that needs the training!
