X2 but at the same time I am sure they could find a middle ground rather than just saying yes or know. Oh wait we are talking about the US Gov. Guess we will be paying out the ***** for jalapeƱos and wine now...

Yes they are, I want to know where my meat come from too, especially seafood. Some of that Asian farm raised it deadly.

Question I have is, do we really need imported meats? Tax/tariff the crap out of it.

Yes, and no. I think with the recent drought, and the ability for it to become worse, we need to be importing meat, even if it is a small amount just to maintain the relationship.

In my opinion, if they decide to repeal the rules of labeling because of pressure from Canada and Mexico then yes they are on the wrong side. I want to know the origin of food I buy. I dont mind buying beef from either of those countries but I like to know if I am. Given a choice, Im buying US beef plain and simple. I would stop buying seafood altogether if I didnt know where it came from.

            Yup,
Especially seafood. I buy hippie meat over at whole foods anyway so I'm not sure it will affect me.

next they'll be expecting the monsantos of the world to label gmo's in the food supply. congress isn't going against their owners, regardless of the side of the aisle.

The C.O.O.L. (Country of Origin Labeling) program was put in place to protect and ensure the US with quality and safe meats. No way do we need to change this law or allow another country to control us or force us into any action that was designed for the Health and Safety of the American consumer!!!!

We still import their meats but just put it on the label what the country of Origin was........... Of course they want it removed so they can be thrown in with quality and Safe US Beef and Pork to get more of the market share!!!

We should ALWAYS know from where our food originates. ANY move to suppress or stop that is a clear cut giveaway of a paid shill working for the sellers of crappy products.

Cheap foreign agricultural imports are a thorn in our countries side! A lot of it is just low quality crap that can negatively affect our producers here at home. I'm not against all food imports, as I really enjoy some quality imports that we simply don't produce domestically. But you start talking foreign commodity breaks with my old man and he's liable to blow a gasket. I guess I just don't understand why we can't put simple tariffs in place on most all imports. Too many big boys who have congress' ear are making money on the import/export game. Frustrating.

Buy local!!! (Riceland Rice in particular! )

I just send Conaway's office a text message. I don't agree with this at all.

Go Texan products first, then USA.....when their is a choice. I like labels.

And yes, they are on the wrong side aka what's good for them, not what their people actually want.
