    Has anyone shipped to Alaska?

Selling my bow, I have it listed here and on AT. I have a guy on AT interested in buying it but he is in Alaska. I'm assuming shipping is more but I don't know if it is going to have any extra steps since it is leaving the country on the shipping route? Don't know, never shipped anything outside the of the Cont USA.

I shipped stuff to Alaska and My wife shipped stuff back a few summers in a row. Including about 60 pounds of salmon. Takes a bit longer but it is no different than trying to ship anything to the next town over. Good luck!

Awesome. I just need to call a local shop and get a box for this thing.

The biggest problem I found was locality. I shipped a guitar to someone in Alaska, but the UPS service to the area wasn't dependable since the area was very remote and very few inhabitants. The buyer had my ship to a friend about 120 miles away from him and he drove to his friend's to pick it up. BTW it was the buyer who asked me to ship to his friend.

It depends on where in Alaska they live. But most places have service through USPS. First Class Mail can cost a little more, but no where near as much as UPS/Fed Ex. The cheapest is Parcel Post through the USPS, but can take 3-6 weeks for delivery.

He's at Ellison AFB and USPS flys into Ellison regularly so shouldn't take too long

FIFY - Right outside of Fairbanks. We used to shop at the PX there when I was in college. Not a big deal shipping to Fairbanks.

I've shipped stuff to Anchorage, Kodiak and Kotzebue for different hunts. No problem for anything, just can take some time depending on where its going.
