The do it yourself surgeries and jiggle joint videos are the bestest.

I repaired a 50" TV that went out. Cost me $8.00 for a power supply capacitor. I was about to chunk and decided to YouTube it. Glad I did.

Youtube is my second favorite internet resource outside of google. I've learned many, many things from those two places.

Yep, diagnosed, tested the part to be sure (separate video), and fixed a bad ice maker that was actually the water control valve in the bottom of the refrigerator! saved me a bunch.

Washer and dryer here for me too!!!
Now, if I could just find one on how to change out the axles on my 4 wheeler, and find the parts, I'd be back in business!!!

You tube beats the heck out of going to the library and getting a Chilton book! Now that's old school right there, I bet a lot of TBHrs don't even know what a Chilton book is.

I am a "visual learner" - it really helps me to watch a video instead of - or in addition to - reading instructions. For example last weekend I installed/replaced our fold-down attic stairs. Pretty straight forward and simple but watching someone do it shortens the learning curve. It is mind boggling how many how-tos there are and how specific they are. I was trying to replace a shift linkage on my son's car and was flummoxed by the instructions. I did youtube search found 3 videos on how to do it for that specific make, model and year.

I am a visual learner also and can't stand reading directions. If it doesn't come with a diagram I am lost.

It is widely known that people who use the words flummoxed and flabbergasted are usually mechanically deficient.

Yup thats what I fixed...was about to disect the whole got darn disposal to get the small lead fishing weight that had jammed the rotor. Quick youtube video and I learned this model had an external allen wrench slot to manual reverse the rotor and dislogde anything stuck. Done in 5 minutes.
