Jbarr that is a crazy amount of activity. Are you taking in a ton of calories or is the weight falling off of you?

I've been considering getting one of these. Are they water proof? I've been doing a lot of swimming and curious what kinda calories I'm burning doing that.

I am currently using the MyFitnessPal App on my iPhone to track calories and it has a activity tracker built in but also has the option to sync with the Fitbit. Is the Fitbit worth the $100 or is it just a glorified pedometer?

My wife has one and thinks it's the cats meow because apparently she "walks 13,000 steps" in a dentist office. Somehow I don't think its the least bit accurate but it makes her feel good so I'm cool with it. Oh and she can read her text on it, for whatever that's worth.

They will pick up steps when you are driving and also if you are in a rocking chair.

My buddys wife "walked" like 7 miles by noon the other day, and she had never been of of the rocking chair with their newborn. Lol

I wonder if there are sensitivity settings?

It is a glorified pedometer. I hit 40 and my knees and ankles were getting sore due to squats and running. I started using the Fitbit at Xmas. I have been able to maintain my weight. I use the MyFitnessPal app with it. What it does is give you some sort of accountability if you aren't running or exercising as much. I make sure I get my 10k steps and usually do 3 sets of weights a day. It has been much easier on the body. I realized that on the weekends a lot of times I really loaf too much and it helps me to keep moving.

Haven't taken too many calories and don't feel the weight loss. I think my whole body is swollen from running/walking so much. Lol

I think it is a good thing. If you are like me and don't like to exercise, a daily goal is good. Also, if I have been at the office since 5:00 AM and I am getting home at 7:00 pm I usually don't want to do **** but sleep. But, if I have 5000 steps and I only need 5000 more for my goal, I am much more likely to head out there and jog. And what usually happens is I do my usual 5 mile loop once I get in to it.

                            Anyway, I like mine.

We get incentives for our wellness at work too. That's why we all have one, our company gives us 200 dollars towards anything fitness related each year.
