MASSIVE bobcat on 2news

watchin 2news and they had a segment on the HUGE bobcat prowling the richmond area. estimated weight was 50#! had pix of the cat on the back fence. bobcat was 30# at the very most. i really hate the news. always trying to start a panic over every little thing.

50# is huge but I don't think I have ever heard of a 50#cat I have never caught a 40 # cat 32 was my biggest

Well what did you expect? The average news anchor's never seen a bobcat. He'll we're a buncha self proclaimed "experts" and we can't agree on big weights or deer measurements.

50#'s!!!! Little bit of exaggeration! I think its funny that they also think it must have been released from being a pet. People have no clue what lives in these little patch of woods in the city limits....

That would be a world record sized bobcat if it was. Unless you're holding one its hard to even begin to guess the weight of a cat. If that bobcat was killed and actually put on a scale it'd more than likely turn into a 30 pound cat real quick.

Lordy........our neighborhood blog page had a lady swearing she had a mountain lion in her backyard! It was hilarious when a few hunters replied HARSELY!!!

it was MASSIVE! walking across the top runner on a wood picket fence. the top of the picket covered up the bobcat maybe 6-8" and the cat was almost 1/2 way covered up.
