If you are using a fence it is very important that it be nice and paralell to your blade. Measure from fence to edge of teeth at front and back of blade. Even 1/32 will affect results. 1/16 or greater out of parallel will cause problems.

Is the wood wet ? If not your blade is dull or you are binding it up . I'm a big fan of the Diablo blades

We're all allowed to have a head up backside moment once in a while, aren't we?

A quick solution: (If you have a skill saw and speed square) Hold the speed square on the board and use it as a guide for you skill saw. Very accurate and easy.

Similar to this but with a speed square.

No, Bone, I am not. Wish I could say I was.

In my defense, it was my first time ever setting up or using a table saw.

And it does make a heck of a big difference if the blade is turning the correct direction!

Lol atleast you know now! I would go upon the amount of teeth.

Be careful it only takes a split second of not paying attention. Most importantly Always watch the fence never watch the blade!!!! I've had several guys cut fingers off just because they looked away or weren't paying attention. Also wear safety glasses have a guy that's blind in one eye from cutting on a table saw a small piece of sawdust hit him just right in the eye while ripping a board.
