Attaching a winch to a tree

I know the redneck engineers on here have figured out the best way to attach a winch to a tree (and not scrape knuckles). Anyone care to share their contraptions? I need to hang a new feeder in a remote area so I need to figure this out. Many thanks!!

Well evidently the part of my brain that normally would tell the rest of my brain to try the search function hadn't had its coffee this morning. Plenty of ideas there. Sorry for the redundant post.

I've welded one to about a 2' c-purlin and lag bolt into the tree.

We screwed the winch to a 4x4, and ratchet strapped that to the tree.

Only picture I have with it in. Far left of image

I did it once years ago. I bolted a 2x4 to the winch. Then I used tie wire to attach to the tree. The tree was about a 4" tree. Just mount it to a 2x4 or 4x4 and put 2 straps on it. One above the handle and one below the handle. It will be more stabilized than just using one strap!!
