My friend and I are both looking at getting a stick welder and want to know if anybody on here knows or suggests a specific 110v-120v stick welder. I don't have a 220v outlet so they have to be 110-120v.

I've got a Hobart 140 from tractor supply. You can hook it up to gas or run flux core wire. Hooked up to gas you can weld 1/4 steel just fine IMO. I've welded lots with it (8' deer blind platforms, bumpers, gates etc)and never had a issue with anything falling apart. I've had it at least 6 years and it is still going strong. I use it just about every weekend. I think the 140 is the biggest 110v wire welder Hobart makes. They are around$500 new and it will cost another 100-150 to get the gas bottle set up. TSC does an exchange program on all of their gas as long as you purchase the bottle for them. With flux core wire you can weld 3/16
