    Is this a scam???

Message on the answering machine today stating I'm being sued by the IRS. Said it's a final notice but I haven't received any mail about this. Automated message. Caller ID showed a number but unknown name. Message is for me to call that number back. Did not address me by my name or anyone in my household. Just that I'm being sued and I should call them back.
    Scam or real????

Run the telephone number in the googleweb. There's a good chance its a phishing scam.

I got the same call a few weeks ago. They said I'm being investigated by the IRS and there's a warrant out for my arrest. The number came from New York.. BS!! Never called them back.

Scam! They're not gonna leave u a message like that. It would have to be something certified I would think. Sounds like Scam. My mom got a call the other day telling her she missed jury duty and to a avoid arrest she had to pay a fine of $250 and could be done over the phone. Ha!!!

IRS doesn't use the telephone, certified mail.

Scam. My wife got called numerous times and voicemails left. Always from different states and it always sounded fishy. Looked into it and sure enough it was a scam. Don't call back.

Gangsters dont call you to let you know you defaulted on your loan for the last time.
Ex-wives dont call you to tell you that you forgot the shoebox full of money in the bottom of the closet when she kicked you out.
