    Texas Elk Hunt

Looking at going on a west texas free range elk hunt on google. I stumbled onto this ranch. What do y'all think?

I've sen elk a couple miles north of Sanderson. They seem to be spreading all over West Texas. Good luck to ya. Outa my price range, for sure.

I would spend the same amount and be in far more beautiful country in NM, CO, WY, or somewhere like that. Just personal preference though.

U can kill a bull and a muley buck for less than that in Colorado. 5k for two trophy animals.

It would also take about 1/3 the gas. And I would feel like I have personally helped the texas free range elk population.

It would be cool to kill a free range elk in Texas.

Sure has not updated his website pics in a while. Has he killed anything decent on this ranch since 2009?

I emailed him. Waiting to see if he responds. I'm gonna ask for references.

On a $6500 hunt price, I personally wouldn't let gas price get in the way of making sure it was a good hunt. It would be cool to kill a free range elk here at home, but for $6500 you can get a landowner tag/hunt in a real elk state and have a chance at a lot better bull than what he has posted, or like said above, possibly combo it with a muley. There are a lot better elk hunts out there for that much money.
