Just don't do anything and see if she takes the initiative to hire someone. If you don't say anything she might forget. That's how I get out of doing things I don't want to do.

There truly are some amazing artists out there. in the houston area alot of people will do it really cheap or even free if you give them some freedom with it. better than grafiti. have friends that were into art suff in college that did fences, industrial buildings with permission etc. some were paid gigs some were just okd with permission and they had fun doing it/got to show off their work

The only explanation I got was that our fence was too plain and she wanted to look at something pretty when she sat outside. I didn't have a good argument.......

Looking for support cause my pride is hurt a little bit.

Maintenance. Anything outside in Texas needs maintenance constantly, paint fading, peeling, mold, bird poo, etc.

Remind her of the pictures in your house that nobody looks at any more. Same with a mural on a fence. It'll get old quick.

Prolly a losing battle but that's all I got.

I kind of like the idea. Our west side back yard would be perfect. No one can see it from any street. I could do all kinds of crazy stuff and just paint the fence brown before we sell the house.

                      Hmmmmmmmm...............................

Take down the privacy fence and put up a hurricane fence. I know you can't do that but it would be funny to see the look on her face. When my wife comes up with ideas like this it's always Pinterest behind it I just act like I her what she is saying then go about my business.

Call me crazy but my wife would be told that isn't happening and it wouldn't.

                          Good luck

I live down the street from Hobby.
A picture of a Leer Jet fixing to hit the house with Rosie O'Donnell as the co pilot would be hilarious.

And, getting married seemed like such a great idea!

Hang in there Jake, and pick your battles. She paints the fence, you get a bass boat!

You never know, it might turn out to be really cool. My wife is working on a similar project. She is not having our fence painted though. Instead there is going to be a painting of the beach that will be the back drop for our pool. It is going to be painted on wood and I will have to set some posts in the back yard to put it up. I am actually looking forward to seeing how it turns out. My wife hired one of her former HS students who is a talented artist to do it.

The last time she did something like this she had a painting made. I remember thinking and saying "it cost how much?" This painting was done by a true artist and it turned out really good and it is a one of a kind. (Probably obvious, but it is Jesus hugging Thomas after appearing to him.) Anyway, I had my doubts about that project but I think it ended up being something really cool.

Best of luck to you, I hope it turns out nice. Or maybe she will forget about it.
