To Be or Not To Be...

That is the question. This has really been bugging me the last few days so I thought I'd get some more opinions from you guys here on the GS. Named this buck Pitchfork 2 years ago for obvious reasons. Now two years later wondering if this is the same deer. I know the quality of pics doesn't help, but they are all snap shots from video.

Here he is 2 yrs ago. Estimated 3.5 - 4.5 yr. old (I was leaning more towards 3)

I haven't had the opportunity to see him live this year, but the buck in velvet just seems to be a bit too old. I'm guessing close to 7.5. Don't know, this has been puzzling me. What do you guys think?

That kicker off the brow tine is too distinctive for it not to be him, or at the very least a close relative to him. Nice deer.

      I think it's him Dan...

...any comments about the dark spot on the bridge of his nose?? Do you remember seeing that year after year or is it the pics??

Regardless, I think he's a good one for the taking!!

If that's him (likely) then it's a shame he's sportin' the crabclaw again.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner. Same deer, and he aged well.

That dark spot on the bridge could just be a shadow. He's got some disctinctive ear markings I noticed from last year, but I'll need to see this deer live to be sure. At times I think it's him, then I change my mind

Yup, that abnormal point comes out and hooks upward. Last year it was easily 9" of extra brow. Like you said, very distinctive, two years back to back.

Same hook on his right 3... Same squiggle on his right 2... Same basic frame shape when he looks dead on (comes straight up then goes out)... Very good possibility

sure does look like him. but it looks like you may have missed his best year last year. still a fine buck.

More of me says it is him, but I still have my doubts. If it is in fact him, he'll probably get a pass this year.

What do you guys think of age in the different sets of pics? I see all the similarities in the antler configuration, but what about the age? 3.5 - 5.5, 4.5 - 6.5??? This is the main reason I think he may be an imposter buck. This years buck looks to be a bit older.
