I used the Grimreaper Razorcut last year and was highly impressed on the penetration and damage done. Since last year, I have heard several people talking about the Rage and how good it is. A buddy of mine saw a thing in a magazine the other day that ranked the Grimreaper #1 for mechanical broadheads. What does everyone else think?

I have no experience with the Grimreaper but have heard a few good things about them. However my first hand experience with Rage has been shooting them full time for deer this year.
Now with that said just a couple thoughts. If you like the Grimreaper shoot it and dont think twice about changing. Also, something else to think about on that #1 rating. It very well may be rated #1 but I always question who is actually ranking them and how was it deteremined. Alot of subjectivity tend to be in those tests...

I dont shoot a any mechanical at hogs because they are just a much tougher target and have had lack of penetration. I use my Slick Tricks for that or if I want to hunt with mesh up.

I've herd good thing and seen pic of the GR. Rage has put alot of money out for all the TV people to shoot them. I've seen pic on here of the Rage holes. I shot Vortex last year and they go through the net just fine. No problems with hogs either BLOOD,BLOOD,BLOOD. Ray Charles could have found that blood trail.

Got some Rage 2 blade bhs for Christmas. Shot a huge Axis doe out of a ground blind..not through netting. Just opened the window and shot. I hit right where I was aiming. Watched her run off. Found my arrow w/very little blood and lots of meat on it. No recovery.
They found her 3 day later. She was almost dead. The arrow struck her right behind the shoulder and redirected straight up and out her back. I hit her perfectly broadside so I'm not thrilled with Rage but I have lots of friends who come hunt on my place with me and they've knocked dead em with Rage 2 blades. I would never do a spot and stalk with them either cause they tend to open up and rattle. Reapers did great but cost to much. They are a one shot deal. You could use em again but I perfer a new one cause they bend a bit and get dull after pushing through just one animal.
