    Another hunting show OSO

    Old school outdoors-

Seems like some good intentioned folks...no problem with them. But I'm wondering who the heck is responsible for putting that show on the air?

The wheels came off when the gentlemen said he and his son hunt the world and Africa BUT his son has never killed a whitetail buck....then the son and grand daughter shoot a doe and buck literally in the back legs!

The next show is Reaper Outdoors- guys playing soldier, with electronic headsets and comms.....then they say there is a nice lodge to sleep in but these guys want to sleep outdoors (and proceed to set up a fake bedroll scene). Next is the STONE SHEEP hunt or Corsican/Barbado as we say in TX.

Anything left on outdoor TV worth watching anymore? Or do I just need a snickers....

You could always start your own show, and do it the way you think it should be done.

But then, someone would criticize you for doing it wrong.

I think with three full time networks, it's become difficult to find something really new. The good thing is, there's something for everyone. I find my self watching completely different shows then I did several years ago and at times having NO interest in any of them.

I gravitate towards a few things in a show; personalaties such as the Pig, destinations and technical aspects (mostly equipment)...they seem to come and go with different interest.

Perhaps you should take a brake for a bit...It's not like you'll really miss anything, they play the re-runs in the off season.

Unless you backpacking into the deepest stretches of some unknown place solo in bad weather with no food or water, you have no need to "survive the hunt".

Who went stone sheep hunting in Tx....I have to see that!

At least I wouldn't shoot multiple deer in the *** and then think it was a good idea to put it on TV.

Shockey is great, Vicki and Ralph are good (except they always talk over each other), monster bucks etc....I just sometimes wonder how these other poorly done shows get air time with this classics.

Basically getting a hunting show on air is no different then getting a TV commercial to air. Simply you just need the money to pay for the air time. This is why most hunting shows have turned into infomercials because they need to pay for their air time.

Anybody with bank roll want to go in with me on a new show? We will hunt day leases to package hunts that are actually affordable and help our fellow average Joes find good hunts, as well as help out our Texas property owners who provide outdoorsman the oppurtunities!

Combined I have access to about 20k acres of family land in 4 counties....I've always wanted to invite the quality producers and hunters to film out there. To me, stand hunt whitetails in the fall, spring turkey and summer exotics. Focus on quality animals, quality experiences and good fellowship. No weird eccentric backwoods hillbilly turn off personalities.

I want to see more OTC and draw public land hunts on TV...you know, real hunting.

Not private ranches letting folks with cameras hunt to promote their ranch.

I could care less about promoting my family's property, in fact I'd prefer to never have weekend idiots out there. Just a few select free range archery kills. Aka real hunting, Wild and not trampled out high pressure like the public land in Texas.
