I need some help with a low poundage bow.

I had shoulder surgery not too long back and am in need of a low poundage bow to borrow or for kinda cheap price. Buying a new bow now and then again for season is out of the question.
Currently I should have enough preference points for an upcoming hunt that I should get drawn for. If I don't apply I lose my points and if I cant quailify I lose my points. Not sure what I can draw right now and I'll talk to the therapist Tues and see. Hopefully I can pull a 30lb bow to quailify and work my way either up to my current bow by season or then buy a new 50/60 pound bow for the next few years.
Anyone have something I might could use for a couple of months? I'm a 27.5" draw and I think I have an old sight and rest I can put on it. That'll work for 14 deer size targets at no more than 30 yds...
Anyway, I appeciate y'all looking at the thread.

Let me see if I still have my rehabilitation bow from when I had my shoulders worked on. I loaned it out and to be honest I'm not sure if I got it back. I'll check in the morning and let you know.

A fairly simple pvc bow will work fine for rehabbing your shoulder. You don't need to shoot anything to give the shoulder the exercise it needs to get stronger. In fact a bungee cord or stretch band will work too.

PVC Bow: My homemade PVC bow! Shoot Practice arrows or homemade arrows through boxes! Cost less than $5 !!! .............DISCLAIMER: MAKE NO MISTAKE, THIS IS A WEAPON. DO NOT SHOOT AT ANYTHING FRAGIAL OR ANYONE. IF ANY PROBLEM OR DESTRUCTION IS CAUS…

It probably wouldn't fit in your bug out bag with all the stuff your getting for Armageddon

          Funny Jeff...

I have capability of rehabing, just looking for a low poundage bow to sling arrows. Right now it has to be powerful enough to stick the arrow in a 3D target.

But thanks for looking guys. I'll check out Walmart. Maybe they got a toy Indian bow. After all, TPWD took out any minimum draw weight for hunting...

I have a band. One of those archery excersizers that's adjustable from almost nothing up to 80lb. But it won't shoot arrows for a qualification for a draw hunt...

If I can pull off the sucker tips, whittle down to a point, and get 30 yds then I could quailify...

Better check with your Union as this may violate your safety rules

Mike what poundage is this bow I have of yours? It is the one that I picked up from Midland/Odessa almost a year ago. I still have it and my wife would like to see it gone

Toby, I'll get up there soon I promise. Going to the lease next weekend (if it dries out some) and could pick it up then if possible. It's too much poundage for now...

To answer a question above, there no longer is a state requirement on minimum draw weight for hunting in Texas.

I have found Diamond, Bear and Mission bows that go as low as 15lbs and can get to my draw length but can't afford $300+ just for a bow to shoot now and not intending to hunt with. Again, just need to quailify now for a hunt in November. By November I should be able to hunt with my current rig.

Look for a PSE Discovery 2 or Browning Micro Midas. I shoot a Browning for bowfishing @ 29#
The PSE is about $200 new and you can find used PSE's and Brownings for $100-150
