          Eastern Hognose. Awesome snakes. Harmless and probably the least aggressive of any snake out there unless you're a toad or field mouse. I have one at my house that's probably 2 foot long.

                They are cool looking snakes. I had a Western Hognose too but I let him go.I should have took a picture of them side by side to show the difference. The Western Hognose has patterns and color almost identical to a Prairie Rattlesnake. They're also different in that they don't do the "false cobra" display an Eastern Hognose puts on the scare away predators. They will play dead but the Eastern Hognose does that more often. I've seen a few Western's play opossum but normally they just crawl away.
