Wouldn't it have been better to mount him with the horns up instead of to the side?

Lol. Is it turned? I don't know how to fix it if it is

I'm no pro but honestly your ear butts are too small, the ears weren't turned all the way or you didn't get the bondo all the way to the ends. That's where the wavy ears are coming from. The eye set could use some work and a deer's nose is not black. Now those are just the big things that stand out to me. For your third one I think your doing good. Get some reference materials and study them. Work on making every mount batter than the last and you will do fine.

Everything comes with time. Congrats on enjoying taxidermy. I think it's a great start.

The nose actually looks really good. Can't see inside the nostrils but the pad looks great and not too dark, but it is missing the flesh tone towards the bottom. As stated above, use reference on your ear buts they are way too small. Also, ear liners are the way to go in leu of bondo for a beginner IMO. Much easier to get the correct shape as long as they are turned all the way. The eye shape is off and the eyelashes should be at more of a 45 degree angle, again it's all in reference. Overall not bad for your third though. Keep it up!

I did use ear liners and ear butts, the thing that killed me was that the ears were so torn up and infected from ticks I had to cut out a big spot on one of the ears. And yes the ears were turned all the way but they were a mess by the time I got all the cartilage out. Thanks for all the help guys
