    Not bad...... Still trying to figure out how the video relates to Romans 8:28 though. Does it have something to do with the missed shots?

      Ha Ha Glad you asked! The intro with me talking in truck was last year, of course i try and film everything but sometimes get carried away with hunting. I was on a particular turkey that has eluded me years before. I missed him at 15 steps, then busted him at 30 when hens spotted me. Then had numerous other encounters, even put a buddy on him and he had opp but just never ideal shot. So it was kinda funny i filmed the prelude to the season that first morning. I hunted him pretty hard that year with no successful chances. Well the day before good friday we get on him hot and nearly got him, but i spooked him (trying to circle him). I was bummed, and actually on way out shot at another gobbler and missed him on the run. If I would of killed him I wouldn't of went the next morning or took another in to hunt the bird I been on. GOD had other plans. Morning of good friday was pouring rain and nasty but I knew I had to go, nearly drove back home because I had a 2 mile bike ride to the spot. No camera, just gun I ride to field and set up in rd. It was daylight already and I knew I needed to be on plot. So i crawled through thicket to my little log blind, and as I was stepping over he was walking right through opening. He must have just pitched down, well I eased gun and shot him. All those years and misses came together in that one moment. *** You see weeks before I had some dreams about killing a multiple bearded turkey with 3 beards, and just took it for that a dream. Always wanted to kill a bearded bird, as with everyone else, but they are hard to come by. Well as I run out there I look him over and he has ok spurs, but when I flipped him he had 3 beards!!! Now at that moment people are excited about the beards and all, but it was different with me. The Holy Spirit just led me to stand and look up. In that moment I was taken back to on that day Christ Died for me and in 3 days he will rise again. (given the 3 beards).... No coincidence, just God.

      Now the video, The trail photos are the trophies we pursue, and invest so much time into. We prepare every day hoping to get a shot at one of them. Our lives get consumed by it. Then after all the preparation and planning, the moment arises and we miss it. We stand with a sick feeling wondering if we will ever get another shot. But behind the scenes God is always at work. Our misses are actually sometimes opportunities. We just focus so much on the earthly thing, that we fail to see the heavenly. Col 3:2. We focus on the circumstances and the problems, but do not realize that we are being conformed to the Likeness of Jesus. Romans 8:29. The circumstance just might be the training ground or the preparation for the blessing. We must have eyes as Jesus sees and not the world. FOR WE KNOW that God makes all things work for the Good of those who LOVE him and called according to his purpose. Paul KNEW that promise because he believed and lived it daily, he saw the power of God firsthand. This verse is for those who LOVE God. So Christians be encouraged that no matter the obstacle or circumstance, God will use it for good. Non-Believers be encouraged that when you turn your life over, God is there for you ALWAYS, because he loves you even in your sin!
      Even the misses(storms) we encounter, he is at work.

      When Jesus sent the disciples to the other side of the Lake, a storm arose and they were being battered by waves. They had a destination, but as the storms came they forgot about the destination and focused on the storm. Jesus came walking to them about to pass by and they were afraid and thought it was a ghost. Jesus knowing said do not be afraid, It is I. Peter said if It is you, tell me to come. Jesus Said COME. Peter actually walked on the water until he focused on the storm and took his sights off Jesus. The even more exciting thing is that they did not end up, where they were initially heading. They ended up on the other end of the Lake. They were greeted and Jesus performed miracles and healed numerous people there. So again even though storms arise, there is always a purpose for those who LOVE God!

      Peters Denial was a huge miss in his life, which led to him establishing a stronger relationship with Christ, and ultimately Christ establishing his church through him.

      We can plan and put all we have into something, but what if we miss!! Is it the end or just the Beginning. The answer is in Col 3:2 and has to do with what we are "Sighted In" too!

      Look at it this way 6,000k on a guided elk hunt plus tags and travel. All the gear, shooting, etc. Only to have one shot and you miss!!! The feeling afterward, must feel a lot like Peter felt when he denied Christ! Sick, ashamed, Heartbroken, etc.
      Even though it is just a hunt, God can use it. He can teach you through it. The storms you encounter(death, cancer, health, money, divorce, guilt, depression) God can use for the Good. It is true that we find God in the darkness and storms, than when things are great. Remember Paul knew by experience. So why shouldn't we!!!

        Some true words there and God truly is amazing at how and when He works in us. It's undeniable when it happens.

        Your post reminds me of this anonymous poem.

        "When God wants to drill a man,
        And thrill a man,
        And skill a man
        When God wants to mold a man
        To play the noblest part;

        When He yearns with all His heart
        To create so great and bold a man
        That all the world shall be amazed,
        Watch His methods, watch His ways!

        How He ruthlessly perfects
        Whom He royally elects!
        How He hammers him and hurts him,
        And with mighty blows converts him

        Into trial shapes of clay which
        Only God understands;
        While his tortured heart is crying
        And he lifts beseeching hands!

        How He bends but never breaks
        When his good He undertakes;
        How He uses whom He chooses,
        And which every purpose fuses him;
        By every act induces him
        To try His splendor out-
        God knows what He’s about.
