Rattlebugs moving in?

My daughter and I were working in the back yard when she heard him buzzzing. Luckily the cat spotted it and got it wound up. He was about 40' from us. The neighbor just mowed so I'm guessing that's where it came from and must have crossed right by us. I've been on this piece of land for 26 years and this is the first rattler I've seen here.

I killed one about 3 1/2' in my front yard today. Wife could here the little baby cottontails screaming as he was eating them.
