Lost only truck key need cheapest replacement

So I lost my only truck key and I just called Pop a lock and they want $306 to come out cut and reprogram a new key. I was just wondering what would be a cheaper alternative. I could have the truck towed to the dealership and a new key cut and programmed from there. I do have another key but it will only open the door and turn the truck over and then it shuts off because it does not have a chip in it. I had that key made as an alternative way to open my truck in case I ever locked my keys inside.

I have also seen a replacement key online for $60 that is uncut and am wondering if I could take that key and have it cut to match my regular key then have someone program it for me.

Take the vin# and proof of ownership to a factory dealership and have their parts dept cut you another key.

Dealership. And when you pay the $150 for the new one, take that one to ACE hardware and get some chipped copies made for $50each.

I've heard anywhere from $100 up to $300
                    It's dealer and brand specific
I think the Volvo was $300
But Nissan dealerships were between $100 and $180 for my Altima
They are really chargin you to reprogram the computer inside

Is this an actual key, or the fob that plugs into the square hole that has the actual key hidden inside the fob?

Key without a chip $10, not sure what the cost is for one with a chip. Wife lost one of her Jeep Compas keys and it cost $275 to replace it, but it har remote start and door locks and a dealer item only.
