    ? About Selling Used P/U

Guys I've got an older Nissan PU in which I have a local guy really interested in buying it. I don't know this guy whatsoever and haven't really sold a vehicle in a long time. He's paying cash. Just wondering for those who have sold one lately do you draft up anything to sign such as sold as is don't come after me if it has a major break post sale type of document? I'm not on the up and up on the legality part. You never know now days with how easy is it to get sued over any little thing. Just wanted the GS's thoughts/experience on this? Is there such a document that exists as a standard sell?

I always accompany the buyer to the auto registration office to insure the tile is no longer in my name.

That's a good idea if both parties are able and willing to meet at the same time at the registration office. It becomes difficult on the weekends and/or if the selling party does not live in the county seat.

There's a form now, that the buyer signs and the seller files with the state that basically tells the state the seller is no longer the owner.

Seller had me sign one when I bought my son's truck back in January.
They also had a second copy of the same form that they signed in order for me to have a copy of what I just signed.
Registration office wasn't open on Sunday afternoon when we met.

Go down to where you get your registration and ask for "sellers" paper or something like that. Have him put all his info on it. You can either mail it in or go online and submit the info. Also, keep the plates. This is what I did a while back.
