    Flashpaq 1842 Superchip for F150 5.0

Anyone use this programmer on their 5.0? Just to trying to understand the Performance and/or MPG gains.

I'm more interested in the fuel savings than raw HP or torque gains.

    Thanks!

Anyone with any feedback on performance chips on a 5.0?

Don't know much about the programmer, but is you AVG MPG. Mine was 18.3 until I went to taller tires. Speed o is off now, so I assume it is not calculating my miles per gallon correct. Averaging 16.7 now.

Yeah...I'm averaging 18.5 with the new 2015 4X4 with a 3.55 rear end. Was wondering if that chip could get me to 20 overall MPG.

How much is the programmer and how long will it take to recoup your purchase price in gas. 1.5 miles per gallon is 36 miles a tank. So about $5 a tank in savings. You would save about $250 year in gas.

Chip runs $300. For me..the payback would be roughly a year at the current gas prices. Much sooner if we get back to $4. Just don't want to make that investment if it's simply snake oil.

Worth the gamble in my book. I'm considering supercharging mine next year, but would like to hear your power gain results.

Curious myself, also does anyone have any warranty concerns when adding a chip

Why would you buy a truck, then worry about a few mpg's?

Why would you not want to save a little money where you can? You must have more money than me! I bought a truck because I need a truck.

I understand saving $ where you can no doubt. I also bought a truck because I need it, not want it.

I doubt you'll see 20 mpg with it

Those chips rarely if ever work. I've seen them fry the electrical on an engine before. Not worth the risk in my opinion.
